EVEN MORE new stuff this week on Ages 3 and Up!.  We were pleased to participate in the WORLD PREMIERE weekend for Keller Williams’ Kids album.  Williams in an accomplished adult performer (that is, one who performs for adults) who just put out his first album made especially for kids.  It’s good, too!

We played a really great song about a turkey, called “Lucy Lawcy.”  We liked it so much that we played a few other turkey songs, to go along with.  We also heard something from Elizabeth Mitchell’s AMAZING new album, called Sunny Day and the title track from Frances England’s forthcoming album.  It’s a different sound for her, but we like it!

Thanks to all the nice people who called me this week, and to those who listened but didn’t call. Oddly, I played almost exactly what I intended to play on Ages 3 and Up!– it rarely happens. Included were songs about unruly dogs, FreeKY Fest previews, songs about ice cream, a couple of songs about kites and a couple of songs about the alphabet.

One of the songs about ice cream was from Frances England’s new release, Family Tree, which I really really like. If you dug Lisa Loeb and Elizabeth Mitchell’s work on Catch the Moon, or are into the folky-pop thing, then you’ll probably be as enamoured of this record as I.

Here’s what was played:

The Flaming Lips– “Big Ol’ Bug is the New Baby Now”- v/a Colours Are Brighter
Music for Aardvarks and Other Mammals– “Big Ol’ Dog”- Runaround Kid
The Deedle Deedle Dees– “Obedience School”- Freedom in a Box
Robbert Bobbert and the Bubble Machine– “I Love the Animals”- s/t forthcoming
Snow Monster!- “Rock ‘N Roll Nicole”- Ready in Seconds

Twink– “Lemon Sublime”- Ice Cream Truckin’
Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers– “Ice Cream Man”- Roadrunner, Roadrunner: The Beserkley Collection
