We did not play ANYTHING new this week on Ages 3 and Up!. But then, who says you have to, right? Instead of focusing on new material we decided to focus on Dads, because we were celebrating Father’s Day. We had songs about Dads, father-daughter teams, multiple generations of musical families playing songs about families, AND (my favorite) we had guys singing lullabies. Normally you think of lullabies as a Mom thing, but Dads sing them too, and I think that’s really, incredibly GREAT.
In order:
Frances England– “Daddy O”- Fascinating Creatures

Banjos For Babes– “Bingo”- Volume One: Classic Children’s Songs
Sarah Lee Guthrie & Family– “Cuz We’re Cousins”- Go Waggaloo
Woody Guthrie– “Wake Up”- Nursery Days
Bob Marley– “Three Little Birds”- B is for Bob
Ziggy Marley with Cedella and Rita Marley– “I Love You Too”- Family Time

The Harmonica Pocket– “Mere Bacche Ki Lore (Hindi Lullaby for My Child)”- Ladybug One
The Jellydots– “Pretty Little Baby”- Changing Skies

Here’s hoping that all the Dads, Step-Dads and Granddads listening (and reading) had an AMAZING Father’s Day!
